Denver Part Two

Well I had to write my Denver trip story in two parts.  First I wanted to review the hotel for everyone, but I also must tell you the reason why we went to Denver.  My buddy Nora is missing her back right foot.  This does not slow her down at all.  She gets around just great and goes to cat shows and does pet therapy.  In fact, I think she is a perfectly wonderful kitty.  I know the human worries that compensating for her missing foot might put strain on her other legs and back.  So the human's friend Laura saw a story on Animal Planet about a kitty who was missing her back foot and the human looked up the clinic.  When she found the website and saw that it was in Denver, she figured it was fate.  Nora is named after the human's good friend Nora who lives in Denver.  Nora the human has been battling cancer for the last two years.  Kitty Nora's name at the shelter was Peggy and the human did not feel that was right.  Nora lived outside for over year with a missing foot and had seven kittens because no one took the time to care for her properly and have her spayed.  Kitty Nora is a courageous survivor kitty, and she needed to be named after someone who was very special and a survivor just like her.  So this is what brought us to Denver.  Not just to visit with Nora, but also take Nora to Ortho Pets.

I have to say the Ortho Pet clinic is very nice.  The vet met us in the lobby and she was very friendly.  The receptionist also was very welcoming and helpful.  The exam room was great.  There was no table and Nora and I got to run around and play on a big mat on the floor and climb on the bench.  The appointment took a little while the human and the nice doctor talked a lot about Nora and her special new foot.  Now comes the kind of scary part.  The nice vet and the technician had to make a mold of Nora's foot.  The technician lady held Nora while the vet wrapped Nora's leg in plastic and then this plaster stuff to get a mold of her leg.  I hid under the bench.  I figured I am probably next.  Nora was very brave and only squirmed and meowed a little bit.  I would not be so brave and probably would have given the nice vet lady a little nom.  This is why I had to stop showing because I started noming the judges.  Well, it was over quickly, and I composed myself and climbed out from behind the bench.  The rest of the visit went great.  

After our visit to Ortho Pets, we went to the Pet Smart hotel which was lots of fun.  We got to hang out and have a snack and use the litter box.  The human went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to see a pirate exhibit.  She reported back that the exhibit was great and hopes it comes to the Seattle area, so her friends can see the exhibit. I really wanted to go, but the human said cats were not allowed despite the fact I am a travel blogger and own a pirate costume.  Well that is my very late report from Denver.  Next week we are off to the town of Chehalis, WA.  The human reports that this hotel might not be too exciting, but I will provide you with a full report.
